Interest in open education resources or OERs is increasing as districts review and realign their curricula to the new common core state standards. OERs provide districts with inexpensive and flexible resources to use while allowing teachers to choose and adapt materials that are appropriate for their students. However, professional development and support is still needed to ensure proper use of these resources.
